Billy Cowles

During my freshman year of college in Boston I was dragged to a yoga class by my roommates. I was intimidated. I didn't know anything about yoga and worried that I would embarrass myself in front of my friends, who seemed confident and knowledgeable. My fear of looking like a fool was completely misguided; yoga turned out to be a safe place for self-exploration and healing through movement and breath. I still remember the feeling I had after that first class; relaxed and energized in equal parts. I was hooked.

Since that day almost 10 years ago, I've been lucky enough to practice with incredible teachers like Caitlyn Visconte, Matt Phippen, Schuyler Grant, Marla Apt, James Murphy, and of course Nikki Vilella. I enjoy practicing a wide breadth of styles including Iyengar, yin, Kundalini and Ashtanga but often return to my first love - vinyasa, for its creativity and vigor.

Expect a detail-oriented sequence featuring a thoughtful crescendo of poses and a meditative playlist.

Put simply, practicing yoga makes me feel more alive, and I hope my classes do the same for you.
